I've just watched the live stream from Stefano and a few questions were answered, one being about the poor Oculus Rift support where the user cannot use the mouse. It looks like this cannot be changed even when Oculus releases the consumer version due to AC's mouse based UI. What it basically means is although you can race you will be unable to make setup changes or do anything that requires the use of the mouse.
A bit disappointing but it is what it is.
On a brighter note, ballast MIGHT be with us for 1.2
That is also why there is the console UI that will be implemented in the PC version (gamepad driven UI). I would not worry too much as it will be a game changer in the true sense of the term and as such I very much doubt those views will stay unchanged, much like weather and pit crew. In the future there will be robots, sorry VR headsets.
He also said there was going to be no weather, no pitstops and other bits and pieces. I would not trust a word that comes out of his mouth. Personally I think it would be amiss if it was not available in the PC version. If they do not implement it, I am sure some kindly modder will hammer it into the themes without too much fuss. LOL
Got my head in the oculus rift over the weekend on one of their demos and in elite dangerous! omg it is awesome! I'm actually tempted to buy the DK2 even with the lower resoultion which is noticeable, mainly because i'm impatient and don't wanna wait over 6 months for the consumer version.
Would be a mistake for them not to support it as I can see it really taking off in the flight and driving sim genres of gaming.

It will be all set for AC2, so give it another year or two and AC2 will be in development. I had a go at X Motor Racing because of the stream, it make rF look like rF. It might be okay if you mess with it for hours on end, but as a get in and race it felt like rF1 and looked like it also. The models were rough, the tracks also, the dash was drawn on with crayons and the FFB was okay, but personally not a scratch on AC.
I am waiting for the next few DLC and then see where all the chips lie. If the multiplayer/server options are improved I can see AC being with us as a league racing option more and more.
I'm waiting for CV of the rift. Should be with us in a few months. Your 970 will be enough for triple screens but expect to have to turn some gfx down a little. I'm hoping a 970 will be enough for the rift but again some gfx will need to be turned down. I fear a 980 might be on the cards for me just to be sure.
This is the main reason i'm not active here at the moment. I love aloog and guys here are amazing, but AC is pain in the ass for rift users. From the moment i tried OR i was sure i will not use monitors for racing any more and i took my triples down from their stand and moved the seat into the corner. This gave me more precious room in this little mancave of mine, where even she who must be obeyed has no power over me.
I falsely assumed that proper AC support will come very soon and all will be good. I wonted to ask if anyone knows how is leaving server affecting minorating? My only option in multiplayer is to drive or quit. Any tips from other OR users for online racing?
if you are signed up on the official forum you could post in the minorating drivers thread. im sure Minolin can answer this and address any issues there may be for vr users. if you arent signed up I can ask for you and post back here if/when he replies

steve: You were vote kicked by some other players who were up to no good. You will be able to rejoin once the server is restarted (at the time of writing the server is full, and I don't want to disrupt their races).
