Btw I had the F9-leaderboard on, so I didn't saw my ping while I was qualifying. Don't know how long my ping was that high, cause right in the moment I looked into the chat (race didn't start), I was kicked. At least when I joined the server, my ping was normal. So yeah, it was my fault in some way.
To be completely clear here, this is what happened: 1. I joined the server, my ping was totally normal like always. 2. I started the qualifying and ended up 3rd or so. 3. The checkered flag showed up and then fade to black right to the starting grid. 4. I change the setup and look into the chat for about 5 seconds -BAM KICKED.
This is what happened, I swear the god! And now you tell me what I made wrong besides I have the F9-leaderboard running. I mean why can't you just kick me but also blacklist me?
Say thanks to Kunos for that. There're no separate commands for kicking and blacklisting. There's just a server option to either put kicked player on blacklist or not. If you don't put him on blacklist nobody could stop the guy from returning, so ALOOG servers don't use this mode. I hope one day we get a separate blacklist command, I don't think it is that difficult to implement it. Did you have you chat window open when on track? Usually high-pingers are warned by admins and kicked only if they don't reply within a reasonable amount of time
Do you mean that python app? No, I don't have it running, BUT there is nothing explicit in your rules that I have to (at least I haven't found it). I know you guys take your job very very very serious and so I checked your rules yesterday again after I was kicked ;-)
"High pings cause problems across the board and as such you COULD be kicked from the server. CHECK YOUR PING IN GAME CHAT."
I suggest you guys write the chat-app in your rules or even better in your chat when someone joins.
You're an argumentative fella aren't you. The last thing you were asked to do before you were unbanned previously was to read our rules, which does ask you to check your ping so you don't cause problems for others on track. Now you've been kicked because your ping was high and you were warping, and again this is somehow our fault?
This community, our admin and our servers are not here to be abused by anybody, in any way. If you want to continue being a pillock then go elsewhere. I suggest you tread very carefully.
just want to ask how long I will be banned this time. Again one and a half months?
Generally I have to say, that you guys make a fantastic job! Seriously. Thank god there are folks like you who take their job so serious. Sure, there may be some hard decisions from time to time, but in the end, it is the best for all. I learned my lesson, I can tell you that. Never ever argue with somebody who is clearly in the better position, you were right from the first minute! For the future, I will study the rules much much harder, I'll promise. I will especially check my ping more often, at least two times in one lap to avoid situations like yesterday. I even went to my Internet-provider and bought a new modem because the old one seems to be quite bad. Ping should be better now and much more constant! To show you how much I appreciate your work, I will report bad behaviour from drivers instantly to you guys, to keep it clean and fair. That's the least I can do! You can call me your personal Aloog-policeman!
I have to say that it is a real pleasure and honor for me when I get the permission to drive again which such serious gentlemen-racers like you are, ultra-hard but ultramega-fair! Thank you.
Thanks a lot for the fast reply! 1 week sounds pretty fair I guess. Time for me to tweak my new modem and my new router! My provider said ping should be awesome with the new equipment! I also think about a new super-fast fiberglass-internet when it becomes a little cheaper in my area, so ping really shouldn't be a big issue for the future.
See you on the server then gentlemen. Good evening fellas.
First I didn't want to start with it, but I think there are some tensions between us. Please, I just want peace, let's get over this ping-story and start again. I really mean it! There is no sarcasm or irony in my words, I can tell you that. You guys are sportsmen and gentlemen, just like me. I know, we had some trouble, but let us look into the future, not into the past. Peace.
Hi Ricardo, the bar is a warning level that used to be hidden from members but not to moderators or admin. It is now on show for everyone and all it is is to relay that you could be annoying an admin/mod. Do not worry, you seem to be learning that it is not worth being rude or off hand. You must appreciate that how you communicate to people when getting a ban over turned revels maybe how you are on track. As you can guess some of us are very busy behind the scenes making sure the dedicated servers, website are working correctly, that the blacklist is maintained (you would be surprised at how long it can take to keep it up to date) and other such boring but time consuming business.
I'm sure you will be taken off the blacklist in a couple of days when the week suspension has run its course. Make sure you have the chat app running when on our servers and if you start to see warping then maybe go to the pits before you get banned again. I know how annoying it is to lose race time because of computer issues but it is better to race another day than get a permanent ban.
would you be so gracious to unban me? Or do you guys need some kind of insurance that my ping is fine now? Do you need some pictures or data from my new equipment? That wouldn't be a problem for me! I'll send you some if you need them. Or do you need some pb to see if I am worth it? So at spa my best time is 16:7 in 1.2 in the 458gt2, Monza 1:48:0. Is this good enough for you gentlemen? Just tell me, I won't be angry or anything. If I have to practice harder, well then I have to pratice harder! :-)
I already wrote it before, but to show you how much I appreciate the "aloog-system", I can also be your innofficial informer in some way! I've seen a lot of threads where players just inform you guys about bad behavouir on your servers. That's just awesome! I can do that too! I will make screens, save replays and just overlook the whole race-situation. And when I see suspicous behavouir from some players, I'll instantly report it to you! Nobody will ram somebody on purpose anymore, nobody will make a risky overtake-move, nobody will have a high ping anymore! It will be the paradise on (simracing)earth!
billwiskins: No, was a close call and I had no idea what happened but you pulled over to the inside just in time soa ll good
