Helo Amigos, just thinking why some servers never change to test what ppl like... we only have 1 server (spa-ferrari&bmw) with ppl and everytime i see its less and less ppl. Aloog need to make more test on servers keep an eye what ppl is looking for to race and have fun. and all i see is spa spa spamugello mugello mugello maybe its a nice track but why not try some other tracks and vehicles just lets check what full servers are on and i see...
for example server with: 1.-shelby cobra-mugello, 2.-lamborghinis gt3-imola, 3.- corvette c7r-Monza, 4.- keep the spa-ferrari&bmw, 5.- gt3'sbmw,mclaren,mercedes,nissan-nords, 6.- seatleaon or formula arbath-barcelona. and try different things every month and lets find out what ppl want if one of the servers work keep it or change it in a month. looks very sad seeing empty servers only.
Dont know its just an idea to maybe bring more ppl. dont know what u think or maybe i dont know something maybe its very hard to change servers or ... dont know those are things i really dont understand, my main focus is to bring more ppl interested in Aloog servers and make a nice community grow.
I'll start with Server 3 as a rotational track server as it is me that comes up with the car choices. I would be more than happy to have ideas passed on if they are wrong or boring (Thank you community for the opportunity). I try to stay away from what is run on other servers to be just that, different. The Spa track and GT cars seem to be the combination most people jump into. Personally I find it rather boring and short sighted, it is just one of those personal things. It is also quite evident that some who pick to drive these cars (GT) have no control or ability to do so. It still bemuses me that the mentality is, of some, that if it ain't a GT car then they are not good enough for them to drive.
ALOOG server one kind of proves the fact that a well organised and voted car/track combination is possible, but again some will never join it as it does not ordinarily use GT cars. The servers should organised with two servers dedicated to the community, Sunday and Wednesday combinations, but the others should be as different as possible. The problem still lies with the community at large that sees only one type of car as the only cars needed. It is sad to see so few joining an Alfa Romeo 4C/GTA/Lotus etc etc sever because they are 'Not as fast and as powerful as the GT cars'. It is one of those weird things, I used to think it was a kid thing. You all know the score, kids jump into the most powerful cars and drive them into walls or each other. But it does seem strange that a combination not using these cars seems to struggle with an attendance.
So I have to say Server 0 does a great job keeping a full and busy server. Server 1 does a great job offering a variety of track and cars. Two server should be available to our community to get ready for league races (WHICH I WANT TO SEE MORE OF, COME ON GUYS LET'S GET SOMETHING GOING ON THIS SCORE). So it leave a couple of the servers up for a bit of variety outside of the norm.
I totally agree with you that there has to be variety, but it is mostly there. It just need the ALOOG community to take a more proactive choice in the servers we have to offer. Also as an ALOOG member there should be more involvement, offer new and varied options, be part of the design and server options to grow as a place of first stop in the Assetto Corsa online racing choice. Let's face it, if it was not for people like yourself there would be no need to have an ALOOG community at all. It is time to bring this to the attention of all and I hope this thread will do just that.
P.S. Magenta text! You really need to stop using your Spectrum 48K to write posts.
The only thing I'd change on ALOOG-0 is adding a few C7Rs there. Say, remove 2 Ferraris and 4 BMWs (which are less popular) and give those 6 spots to Vettes. I most likely won't drive them as I enjoy driving the Ferrari, but I'm sure some people will. This can bring some refreshment to the server while not taking out its core which is GT racing at Spa. Spa is a great track for close high-speed racing and it offers plenty of overtaking possibilities as well as ways to defend your position from a slightly faster car, that's why this combo is the most popular, I think. Also, T1 is rather close to the start there which makes it less prone to those massive T1 wrecks. If you've ever raced GT cars on a public server running Monza, Mugello, or Nurburgring you probably know what I'm talking about
On any given night it's easy to populate any server with any combo. All you need is 3 or 4 people to get it started and run a few races.
ALOOG-0 is busy for a few reasons, although limiting to ABC has made it quieter, but hopefully cleaner. Adding the C7 will kill it over night, simply because it's DLC. Not everyone has DLC and that is one of the only servers we run with base content. I'm also considering the idea of dropping it back down to 8 laps and restricting the weather to clear unless there are any objections.
ALOOG-1 is changed by Andy and LeDude. They have a thread dedicated to this server in the official forum where there is a larger audience with more widespread 'taste' in combos. It works very well.
ALOOG-2 is GT3 cars. The track gets changed every couple of weeks.
ALOOG-3 as per Horus
ALOOG-4 Open to suggestions (perhaps modded content?)
ALOOG-5 Usually used for events and new content when released
ALOOG-6 Events and Leagues.
As with any server, all it takes is a few people to join and it usually gets busy. You'll notice the highly populated servers in the lobby are mostly GT cars. The public race what the public want. So yes, we can put any combo up that you suggest, but it won't get busy unless you join it.
Another thing to consider is MR. I noticed over the weekend that most of the higher populated servers weren't running MR. I jumped into a few of them and the standard of racing was quite poor, with some obvious deliberate wreckers. So we can either have good quality racing in relatively low numbers, or take your chance with no client regulation. I know which one I'd choose. I know not everyone likes MR but it's a huge leap forward in cleaning up servers and allows admin to race more and admin less.
Minolin is working on an integrated server lobby which will make finding combos that you like, with people of the same skill as you, easier to find. It is still very much in pre-alpha stage ATM i.e nothing works yet, but it should bring online racing to a whole new level, even if you are a GT junkie
Please don't drop it back to 8 laps and leave the weather random. With 10 laps if you pit midrace you can do it on 4, 5, or 6 lap. With 8 laps race the only working option is to pit on lap 4. Also, with 10 laps those who pit have a chance to compete with those who don't. As for DLC1 content I thought that anyone really interested in simracing would already have it

steve: You were vote kicked by some other players who were up to no good. You will be able to rejoin once the server is restarted (at the time of writing the server is full, and I don't want to disrupt their races).
