I want to create this single event at Bridgehampton, as I think it´s a very fine and fun racetrack. Lately having much fun in the C7R and classics, but haven´t desided what car should be run at the event.
Aim is to have a full grid of cause, and run 2x15 min races, the usual sprint stuff.
The catch is, that I want to cater for our US friends, as I´ve been running with the author Lilski and a few other guys lately. So it has to be a weekend event, preferably Saturday, Sunday as backup. Racestart could be 19-21pm UTC.
The "Historic Champs" is just a label, could be a recurring event using only historic tracks or something.
I also hope the an ALOOG server could host this event.
ok I just realised utc is gmt :p looks like we could participate as well at that time. if you would rather host on a different server thats fine but your welcome to use 1 and hopefully our regulars will join. historics would have my vote, I dont really know that track but I imagine they would suit it :p
Any interest in doing this? I´ve been waiting to put something up till Riverside had an update, which didn´t happen until the holidays. Yesterday VIR was released, and although it´s not a closed track like Bridge and RIR, all 3 of them were build in 1957. So they´re all historic, besides being US tracks. I´m leaning towards this:
Thinking that we could use those 3 tracks, but we need some opinions on what cars should be running.
IER car pack is a great option, I also think it makes sense going full mod with this event.
Race format: 20min qual, 2 x 20min race (roughly 11-14 laps on these tracks). Keep it as a fun-event rather than point/ballast/penalty event.
your still welcome to host it on server 1 if you want to Tberg
I figure there´s so many aloog servers empty, that maybe I could just use aloog-2 as I´ve "used" before and is now running RIR. But yeah, since aloog-1 thread on AC forum is the one aloog-thread that doesn´t die, we might as well use it to get the most attention. Seems the regulars are there anyway, more than here.
Atm, I´ll wait for both VIR and RIR updates, soon coming. I´m not sure about the cars yet, there´s mixed feelings about the IER car pack, but it´s also being updated soon. A lot of the regular US guys likes the IER pack, and since it´s US tracks, it´ll suit the event somehow. On the other hand, as I talked to Andy about, historic events calls for both historic tracks and cars. I´m thinking about making singlemake events of all 3 races, different car/cars for each track. There´s no doubt the VIR+IER is popular too, so maybe with the updates, this is one of the comboes. For RIR, I am hoping the Porche pack soon releases and includes a classic racecar that fits. For Bridge, any classic is a handful and quite fun, it could go from L49 to RS1600. It would just be fun to use cars within the time era of the track no matter what.

steve: You were vote kicked by some other players who were up to no good. You will be able to rejoin once the server is restarted (at the time of writing the server is full, and I don't want to disrupt their races).
