By default, if I have "lock camera to horizon" ticked ON, when driving on a slope road the dashboard is moving too much for my taste. Going down hill i see no dashboard and going up the hill it fills too much of my screen. On the other hand if you tick "lock camera to horizon" OFF, the camera is then fixed to the car's chassis and the horizon is shaking so violent that it makes me sick. If you play with 1 screen and sit a bit further from it, you probably will not care about this app because the shake is not so distracting (it is even immersive). But if you play on 3 screens and sit really close, you'll notice the cam shake much more and it might bother you. I was very unhappy with default camera movements and the fact that adjusting "camera shake" sliders in game have no effect in this stage of early access. This app is crucial for me.
Glance left/right look behind don't work anymore even when not running RHM app. Assetto Corsa detect a trackIR with FreePIE, glance left/right and look behind don't work anymore with the in game binding. Workaround : Bind your key directly in Real Head Motion software.
Just a thought but considering the amount of cash people can spend on load cells for pedals, but kickers, full on race seats, c0ckpits and fancy wheels.
Track IR is real head motion coz you move your head! Its relatively cheap, works well and adds immersion.
You can also use it for many other games too.
I tried something similar a while back with R07 and didn't like it at all. Moving your head but keeping your eyes facing forward seemed counter intuitive. Also constantly having to re-centre was a PITA although I believe software updates have helped a little.
Oculus Rift will solve this problem (hopefully) but until that comes along I don't really want to be spending money on things that OC will do better, so free apps like RHM fill in the gap for now.
Northy, I love Trackir in ARMA and DCS (i bought that gadget many years ago). In flight sims it is as important as a good controller. I used it in racing when i had 1 screen. Now with triples it is different for me. I constantly move my body and head while racing, leaning into corners and so on (i know, sounds dorky). With track ir i must sit still or i get very disoriented. Also 3 screens give me all 3 mirrors in my view and there's really no need for more.
I have one screen and Track IR profiles setup for driving and for 6DOF when flying. I have tweeked in a deadspot so that I can move my head a little without screen movement.
As for Occulus rift... great idea, I ask when is it coming out? This year, next year, next 2 years? No one seems to know and what price?
Ive seen a few reviews on youtube and alot of folks say they cannot read in game text because the screen res is piss poor. and if you dont have all of your key presses on the controller, your buggered coz you cant look and see a keyboard.
At least Track IR works and works well be it on a 1024x768 CRT monitor or a 4k screen or even with triple screens. And the best thing about Track IR....
Oculus rift dk1 was really poor resolution and anyone who tried one agree on that. I could not race well with it, but Half life 2 simply looked amazing and was great experience. I sold it while i could get the same money. I waited for first racing reviews of Dk2 to see what people say about the resolution. When i saw enough of pretty convincing reviews saying it's fine for racing, i preordered. It should be shipped soon i guess and i'll be able to tell you first hand if it's good or not. Not being able to see the keyboard is good and bad thing. Not practical for desktop situations but very immersive for racing. In my case there's more than enough buttons on wheel+shifter to map all the actions i need while in car.

I look forward to your review. I thought about ordering the DK2 but after seeing the DK1 reviews, I'll wait....
