I've been speaking to one of the game developers and it seems our dedicated server might not be powerful enough. There are a couple of routes we could go down here.
1. Forget about hosting
2. Raise enough funds to transfer our existing server to a more powerful one, which also implicates a higher monthly bill. I'm not sure how much of s difference it will be, I am awaiting a response from our supplier. However, bare in mind we struggle to meet our monthly bill through donations as it is.
It could be weeks before we get approval to host anyway, so I guess time will tell if we're going to stick with this or not.
On a positive note; this game is still in development, much like where AC was a year ago (although arguably less buggy) and now would be a good time to jump on board. If it's just a passing fad then we'll forget about taking things further.
Do we really need a squad server? Its not like we can write our own content/missions. As already stated above the gameplay is just a grand scale pvp ala Insurgency or Arma wasteland. Public server availability is high. So far Ive played 35 hours and theres always been a bunch of low ping servers with space to play.
Agreed.. Didnt know he was a rugue but it figures. No such lock on the BBC B
Thats £10 for a skin and its only for that one craft not all craft = Major rippoff (Even Mr D. Turpin had the decency to wear a mask)
Yeah everything calls home for matchmaking but the actual seeing other peeps in open play is all done by p2p networking whe it works.
I might wait until a few expansions have passed and maybe pick up 3 for the £40 since they like bundling, presuming I havent totally forgotten about it.
Ive already moved on to War Thunder and Im re playing IL2-1946 and Rise of flight. :-) Feeling the shoulder pain myself... Ive got a frozen shoulder and torn rotator cuff... Physio says it might take 3 years to be right again!
I wont be returning to driving while aloog are still fanboying AC... I have no love for AC... IMHO its a major step backwards in sim play.
ALREADY BETTER? It should be better theres a 10 year age difference and yets its lacking.
Ok then AC should already be capable of day night racing with changable weather, and forced pit stops, not just hotlapping in the dry The server can control if any driver aids are used and to what degree they are used. If the server is closed the client says the server has been closed and takes you back to the server browser screen. The server should state what cars are available for the race without having to be told specifically there will be 3x Fiats, 2x back 1x red, 2x Fords both green, 1x Lambo in yellow (What a bumhole way of setting stuff up)
And a bonus just for me... The client should be able to map my wheel and make it work despite what other USB input devices are connected. (I shouldnt have to disconnect everything to make it work) GTL, Race07, rafctor1, Elite dangerous, Arma2, Arma3 xplane10 and Insurgency can all manage this
A total of 8.8gb in must have required mods! My ISP has gone all drakonion and over time reduced a seemingly unlimited 400tb/month to just 100gb per month, with this metered connection, downloads need to be considered carefully. This little lot would mean me using up 10% of my monthly allowance.
TDS: manual restart seems to fix it (aloog 6 up)

steve: You were vote kicked by some other players who were up to no good. You will be able to rejoin once the server is restarted (at the time of writing the server is full, and I don't want to disrupt their races).
